It is all about the experience and fishing in setting as enchantingly beautiful as those on offer is what a trip to the Pyrenees is all about

Exquisite crystal clear turquoise streams are very much part of the experience - It does not make the fishing easy but it is incredibly exciting and rewarding

The Fly-Fishing in the Pyrenees

The fishing available covers a huge area, only a fraction of which you would see on a single trip. Never-the-less the variety of water available is spectacular. Anglers will have a fabulous range of possibilities from which to fish in secluded and tranquil areas. The diversity on offer is a result of passionate and painstaking research built up over 29 years dedication exploring every lake, river, and stream. Many of the locations fished are in areas of outstanding natural beauty and are UNESCO Protected Natural Areas.

Alongside the Trout, there are some fabulous stretches of river that teem with Barbel.  The fishing can be very visual, in some instances requiring techniques more akin to Bonefish and will put up a great fight.  Previously ignored by game anglers as a coarse fish, with the right techniques they offer spectacular sport on a fly.

Western Pyrenees - La Jacetania Fishing Lodge

This area is considered one of the most remote regions in Western Europe with a small and intimate lodge catering for just eight anglers / non anglers. The waters you will fish cover the Navarra region and the Western Huesca province in the Aragon region. This area has breath-taking up country scenery and is a really unique experience. Although the Trout in the higher regions can be wary owing to the crstal clear water you are fishing prmarily for the native Zebra Trout, one of the oldest and fastest of all the Trout family.  It is as much about the pursuit and the environment rather than simply a case of tallying up size or numbers. If you ever wanted a spectacular backdrop to your fishing this is one of the places to be. This area fishes best from March to June with the higher altitude keeping temperatures moderate throughout the warm summer months.

Eastern Pyrenees –La Ribagorza Lodge

The lower reaches of the Pyrenees offer more productive waters with above average sized Brown or Rainbow Trout. Variety is still very much a feature with spectacular scenery covering mountain streams and more genteel valleys. It covers the provinces of Eastern Huesca in Aragon province and the Lleida province in the Catalonia region. Lodging is run in combination with a local 'Fonda (place to eat)' in Aren and is of the highest standard.

Opportunities for Non-Fishers & Families

This is an area where anglers can justifiably enjoy their fishing knowing that non-fishing partners are paired with an equal array of activities whether it be focussed on sight-seeing, spa or more physical activities such as hiking in the Pyrenees. Historic churches, fabulous wineries, spectacular walks in the surrounding national parks all compete for attention and each evening you will of course be reunited to enjoy the excellent cuisine on offer.

Families are very welcome with fly fishing lessons for children and non-fishers as required
