Mark Bradley - Morgan Stanley "If you love fishing and sightseeing then the best place on earth is called Nimmo Bay. Absolutely class A in every way. Accommodations, lunch, dinner and wine!!" Jean and Henry Hoffman - Dallas, Texas The FishingOne of the many reasons Harper’s Hideaway Report named Nimmo Bay Resort "Fishing Resort of the Year" for 1997 and 2004 is that Nimmo Bay provides a most spectacular and unique fishing experience. We create memories and exceed expectations. We have definitely put the "FLY" into fishing. Let us take you beyond tradition and transcend the angling norm of fishing only one body of water. Nimmo Bayrsquo;s Steelhead fishery is stellar. We have at our fingertips, six major classified waters of the B.C. central coast, plus many remote rivers of northern Vancouver Island. Here, we angle for Steelhead, which weigh in at 10 to 30 pounds. Your helicopter accompanies you all day, throughout this Angling Odyssey. The fishery is catch and release using barbless hooks. Fly cast, spin or drift fishing are the preferred methods to catch these mystical fish. Care and stealth must be taken while angling for Steelhead. Every effort must be taken to approach quietly and cast perfectly to hook up with these chrome beauties. For fly fishers, eight weight rods using reels lined with floating line / sink tip is recommended - 250 to 300 yards of backing behind the fly line is necessary. 12 lb. test spin line or drift line should be used for anglers using this style of gear. Bring your fly rod and reel or drifting gear. We have the necessary spinning gear if this is your preferred method of angling. Fly fishing gear is also available at the lodge for those wishing to travel light. Leave your waders and boots at home. River gear and all-weather gear are provided for your comfort. Terminal tackle is available at the resort but you can bring your own tried and tested flies and lures. There are only 6 "Wild" Steelhead Adventures available. Fishing commences April 19th and completes May 29th. An A-Star helicopter will take four anglers, plus two professional Steelhead guides, on the fishing adventure of a lifetime over 30,000 square miles of coastal wilderness, with an abundance of pristine rivers. Your opportunity to catch wild Steelhead, Dolly Varden char, and Cutthroat trout has just increased exponentially.
